Please join us in welcoming three new members of the Alumni Executive.
Catherine Shearer
Catherine joined IDRC in 1974 and worked in various positions, both full-time and contract, until 2015. These days, she volunteers for the Fletcher Wildlife Garden and the Champlain Park Environment Committee. She also spends her time with wood and soapstone carving, other assorted crafts, showing, breeding, and enjoying her Tibetan Terriers, and frequently traveling back and forth from Ottawa to Toronto to see her two grandchildren. Catherine will be helping out with the Alumni’s Facebook group.
Christiane Constantineau
Christiane worked at IDRC from 1983 to 1997, starting as a data clerk in the Human Resources Division and finishing as Financial Analyst in the Finance and Administration Division and as a Program Administrator, where she participated in a Canadian/South African project to accredit local business service centres. Today, amongst many of her passions, she works as a Fractional CFO, helping companies optimize their finances and increase their profitability. Christiane will act as a Member-at-Large for the Alumni, helping out on various initiatives.
Bill Edwardson
Bill joined IDRC’s Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Sciences Division in February 1979. His first posting was to the University of Alberta in Edmonton, followed by stints in Bogota, Montevideo and Ottawa. Since leaving in 1998, Bill has worked as a consultant for several years with long-term assignments in Ecuador and Sudan, for the Farm Products Council of Canada in Ottawa, and for the FAO in Rome. Bill is now retired, settled in Ottawa with his wife Maria Eugenia, and making frequent trips to New York to visit their son Andrew. Bill will act as a Member-at-Large for the Alumni, helping out on various initiatives.
Welcome Catherine, Christiane, and Bill!
