At early annual gatherings of the IDRC Alumni, one question was perennial. “Have you heard from … lately?” often answered, sadly, with word that the alumnus/alumna had died. James (Jim) Pfeiffer, first Chair of the IDRC Alumni, proposed an appropriate and elegant way to remember IDRC colleagues who had died: an Alumni IN MEMORIAM book with calligraphy that would be displayed each year when we gather. With Jim’s spouse, Jennifer, offering to do the calligraphy, the album was ready for the Alumni gathering in 2005.
With the launch of the IDRC Alumni website the IN MEMORIAM album was archived and is no longer updated. Instead, our website now includes this alphabetical list of the remembrances of Alumni as they first began to appear in the IDRC Alumni Bulletin starting with No. 11, June 2006. Please note that this list is not meant to be exhaustive. It represents only those remembrances that have been submitted to the Alumni Association.
